Safety Bullet is a variation of a lock, but actually goes inside the chamber and magazine of the gun. It is made of a regular brass case and primer, but with a segmented nylon plug in place of the bullet. Instead of propellant powder, Safety Bullet has a small metal rod which when ignited by the primer if the gun is accidentally fired, is pushed forward into the segmented bullet causing the nylon to expand. No projectile exits the barrel and the gun is rendered temporarily inoperable until the Safety Bullet is quickly and simply removed.

 

Although your gun is safe from being accidentally fired or racked and fired by a curious child, it can be quickly put into action by simply racking the chamber of the semi-automatic pistol twice, thereby clearing the Safety Bullet rounds that were in the chamber and the next round in your magazine.
